Thailand Information Product Approvals

           

  1. General

Thai Industrial Standard Institute (TISI) is the national body established under the Ministry of Industry. The governing body for TISI is the Industrial Product Standards Council so responsible for policy marking, sets the priority of standard to prepared, recommends qualified persons for the Minister to appoint to technical committees, arbitrates and awards licenses under its certification scheme.

 

  1. Purpose

This information describes for preparation, submittal, evaluation, and certification of products as defined in the scope for the certification program of TISI, based on the testing and test data provided by any TISI accredited lab, so TISI did not accept CB.

 

  1. Scope (Product Covered Mandatory)

- The scope of the product covers:

Electrical/ electronic products, Agricultural products, Civil/construction material, Consumer's products, Fluid products, Food products, Heat transfer products, Medical/ science products, Paints/ color/ varnishes products, Mechanical/ Vehicles products, and Chemical products.

  1. Marking

Mark for mandatory/voluntary certification. There are 2 types of TIS mark

1.      Standard Mark (Mandatory): This mark is displayed on products, local or imported, that are required by Royal Decree to be in conformity with a mandatory standard. Hence, the manufacture and import of such products must be licensed.

 

 

2.      Standard Mark (Voluntary): The presence of this mark on any product indicates that the product is in conformity with a TISI standard, that its quality and reliability are assured, and that the manufacturer has voluntarily applied for the certification of the product.
